Dear Brothers and Sisters in Messiah,
We continue with very limited snow…it really is quite strange. Was talking with one guy yesterday…we’re concerned our snow blowers won’t know what to do if it starts up. Looks like there is some snow forecast for tonight, but it is only a couple of inches – we’ll see. It was nice having our company…it was also a nice quiet week after everyone left. Christmas is put away and stored for another year. Just have a bunch of really nice memories now!
This week Bible Studies, Youth Group and choir are all starting up! The ladies continue their look at the book of Revelation (with Beth S. teaching today). Contenders is looking at the books of 1 and 2 Corinthians this week and Doug has exciting plans for the youth. Please pray that God’s word will work in all of our lives.
It is an interesting thing how the Lord works it out so we can visit with different people. Several weeks back Leslie ran into someone while getting lunch at Taco Bell. Got to have a good, much needed visit. She frequently runs into different people in Wal-Mart. One of them resulted in several more kids coming to choir, and this week was an opportunity to catch up with some people we haven’t heard from in a while…was good to catch up. It was also nice getting to visit with Marion T. this week – she is looking forward to the time she can come back to church and is doing fine. So many different ways the Lord works these things out and encourages His people.
Sunday’s message began by looking at the end of Isaiah 28:15 where we see people turning to and holding onto lies and deception; so true in our world today. Jeremiah 9:23-24 talks about not boasting about our wisdom, our strength or our riches but rather we should boast in knowing God. Back in Psalm 119 we see how God is to be our strength, our source of revival, and that we can trust Him always. He will do what He has said and will give us strength through His word in good times and bad. We should always be in awe of His Word that never changes and is always true. I pray that you are finding your source of hope and strength in His word today!

Pastor Kevin Hausman
