Dear Brothers and Sisters in Messiah,

Winter is here for sure…no large amounts of snow, yet.  I don’t think we’ve adjusted to the cold yet, as we are always cold.  Our fireplace is very nice and makes things nice and toasty.  Quite a bit of ice under the snow right now which makes walking “fun.”  Heard of several people that were out hunting on the first day of deer season… which started yesterday.  Not sure how much fun it was as it was rainy and windy most of the day.  Still…it is a big day up in the UP!

Deeply sorry about the live streaming of the service.  You should be able to find the message on Leslie’s facebook page.  We are hoping that we can get things fixed and up and running this next week.  We were glad to welcome Walt into membership yesterday!

Plans are moving right along for the Christmas Program with the kids’ choir.  We are planning on doing this on December 13th at 6:30 PM.  Should be a nice night and good to remember the birth of our Savior!  They will also be singing a Thanksgiving special either this week or next week.

Have had several people in the church who are not feeling well.  Please be in prayer for all of them.  Doug and Julie are both improving after several weeks of not feeling to well.  Holly is not feeling well along with their daughter Lisa.  It is a strange time to be sick with all the goings on in our world…still…the Lord has everything under His control, no surprises with Him!

We covered quite a chunk of Jude in the message yesterday…verses 11-23.  When looking at these verses all together, we can really split it up into two groups; those who mock the truth of God’s word and those who contend for the truth of God’s word.  The mockers are compared to Cain, Balaam and Korah along with hidden reefs, empty clouds, fruitless trees, waves of the sea and wandering stars.  Contenders are encouraged to remember the truth taught by the Apostles; we have this recorded for us in the New Testament.  We are also to build ourselves up in the most holy faith, to pray in the Holy Spirit, to keep ourselves in God’s love and we are to eagerly wait for Jesus’ return.  Along with this we are to show mercy to those who do not know the truth.  Quite a list and quite a goal for us to strive for.

By God’s Amazing Grace,
Pastor Kevin Hausman
